Auburn police union marks two-year anniversary of line-of-duty deaths

Auburn, N.Y. — Auburn Police Union Local 195 posted a message today marking two years since the deaths of two officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty: Onondaga County Sheriff's Office Lieutenant Michael “Hootch” Hoosock, badge No. 1703, and Syracuse Police Department Officer Michael Jensen, badge No. 156.

The union said, “Not a day goes by that they are not remembered. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness continue to inspire all of us who wear the badge. They gave everything to protect their communities, and that will never be forgotten. We honor their legacy, we stand with their families, and we carry their memory with us every single day. Auburn burglary suspect arrested; shoes recovered

Auburn, N.Y. — After a March 31 burglary on Owasco Street, Auburn police identified a suspect and, within an hour, Baldwinsville Police stopped the vehicle; a search warrant recovered all stolen property, including 10 to 15 pairs of shoes valued at $1,000 to $1,500, and Matthew Rendino Jr. was charged with second-degree burglary and petit larceny and transported to Cayuga County Jail.
