Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, NY, recently reported that students spent three weeks studying the impacts of climate change and exploring mitigation strategies along the Rhine River. Under the guidance of Assistant Professor Harry Gu, who teaches Media and Society, students participated in the course “Sounding Climate Change.” During the course, they used audio production techniques, including recording interviews and natural sounds from the Black Forest, to document stories related to global climate challenges.

The project took the students from the Swiss Alps to Freiberg, Germany, providing them with firsthand experience of climate change effects in various locations.
