### Free Emergency Preparedness Class Open to New Yorkers

A free training session aimed at helping New Yorkers prepare for emergencies will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 6:00 PM. The NY Citizen Preparedness Training Program, sponsored by the Broome County Office of Emergency Services, will take place at the Broome County Public Library's Decker Room, located at 185 Court Street in Binghamton, NY.

This program is designed to equip residents with the skills needed to handle disasters, whether natural or man-made. Participants will learn how to create a family emergency plan, stock up on essential supplies, and respond effectively to emergencies to recover swiftly.

Free preparedness kits will be distributed to each family that attends the training. These kits are intended to help households jump-start their emergency planning process.

To attend, interested individuals must register in advance via www.prepare.ny.gov or by scanning the QR code provided in the event materials.

This event is brought to the community by Governor Hochul in partnership with the New York National Guard and the Broome County Public Library. For more information, visit the event website or contact the Broome County Office of Emergency Services.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn important life-saving skills and be better prepared for the unexpected!
