Storm Moves Out, But Flood Risk Remains

The Panhandle weather system has moved away from the area, though the National Weather Service has placed our region under a marginal risk for excessive rainfall today. The forecast shows a 5-14% chance of locally heavy rainfall, which may lead to flooding in low-lying areas. Most rain is expected during the afternoon and evening with improvement anticipated for tomorrow as the storm continues to move away.

Rainfall totals for selected locations are as follows:

• Gainesville: 0.25 to 0.5 inches

• Crystal River: 0.5 to 1 inch

• Brooksville: 0.5 to 1 inch

• New Port Richey: 0.5 to 1 inch

• Tampa: 0.5 to 1 inch

• Orlando: 0.25 to 0.5 inches

• Daytona Beach: 0.01 to 0.1 inches

• Titusville: 0.1 to 0.25 inches

• Melbourne: 0.1 to 0.25 inches

• Vero Beach: 0.25 inches

• Sebring: 0.5 to 1 inch

• Arcadia: 0.5 to 1 inch

• Palmdale: 0.5 to 1 inch

Residents are advised to remain cautious on the roads.
