Watkins Glen Students Honored at Greater Binghamton Theater Awards
WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. — Last weekend, students Lilian Artusa, Elizabeth Fitzwater, Grace Weed, and Natalie VanSkiver, along with directors Alex and Kelsey Gill, spent two days at Binghamton University participating in the Greater Binghamton High School Musical Theatre Awards.
They worked with university professionals and a Broadway performer, focusing on vocal work, song interpretation and choreography. During the weekend, they trained alongside students from 10 other schools, building skills, connections and memories.
The weekend concluded with an awards ceremony recognizing excellence across all participating programs, where Artusa received an Honorable Mention Award for Outstanding Leading Performer. Kelsey Gill was honored with the “Fine, I’ll Do It Myself” Award, highlighting the many hats worn and the dedication shown throughout the production of Six.
The district said the students represented the Watkins Glen program with kindness, respect and professionalism all weekend long. The district closed with a message: “We are so proud of this experience and cannot wait to return next year! We are #wgproud.”
